Program evaluation centers on the use of tools to assess program or policy impact and performance. It is often implemented in organizations as a cyclical process, where specialized staff regularly measure efficiency and effectiveness while looking for actionable opportunities for improvement. This workflow is used in the public, private and nonprofit sectors. Outcome evaluation, which looks at the results of programs and policies, is a closely related activity.
Arizona State University’s Master of Science in program evaluation and data analytics degree teaches skills from both of these disciplines. Coursework in the program evaluation part of the degree focuses on how to assess and enhance policy impacts or program performance. While the data science aspect of this degree teaches you how to analyze data and find actionable insights. |

Applicants must have a minimum of a 3.00 cumulative GPA in the last 60 hours of their bachelor's program. Alternatively, applicants must have a minimum of a 3.00 cumulative GPA in an applicable master’s degree program.
Additionally, prospective students must complete an introductory tutorial on the R programming language prior to enrolling in classes if they do not have prior familiarity with the program.
All applicants must submit:
Graduate admission application and application fee.
Official transcripts.
Personal statement.
Proof of completed undergraduate or graduate course in statistics, having earned at least a “B” grade (or 3.00 GPA equivalent).

The personal statement should be one or two pages in length and include any relevant experience that demonstrates the applicant’s ability to succeed in a technical, skills-based degree program. The personal statement is also an opportunity to explain a low GPA, share your career goals or describe any important information that’s not included elsewhere in the application. |
