Lakehead Science One allows you to explore a range of disciplines from the Faculty of Science and Environmental Studies without having to select a particular major until the end of your first year. As you near the end of your first year at Lakehead University, you will be ready to confidently select the program and major that is best suited to you.
University is a time for exploration; Lakehead Science One allows you to take a mix of different courses throughout your first year to uncover your true passion. You will have the opportunity to choose courses from a variety of science-based disciplines including:

- Grade12 English (ENG4U)
- 2 of Grade12 Advanced Functions or Grade12 Calculus and Vectors or Grade12 Biology or Grade12 Chemistry or Grade12 Mathematics of Data Management or Grade12 Physics
Completion of the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent high school diploma; Gr. 12 U English and 5 additional Gr. 12 U or M credits (including prerequisite courses). A minimum 70% overall final average. Admission averages are calculated using the top 6 Grade 12 U or M courses.
Program Specific Prerequisites: English (ENG4U), 2 from: Advanced Functions (MHF4U), Biology (SBI4U), Calculus & Vectors (MCV4U), Chemistry (SCH4U), Data Management (MDM4U), Earth & Space Science (SES4U), or Physics (SPH4U)
