Description:

The MAg degree is a 2-year course-based program designed for professionals who have been with government, industry, or private practice and who wish to return for upgrading and specialization. Students are required to complete 8 graduate level courses, AFNS 601 Seminar course, 8 hours of Ethics, Professional Development and a project. The Department offers world-class research divisions to compliment graduate studies in primary production and rangeland management, plant and animal sciences, food and agri-food products, and human nutrition and wellness.

    The Department's minimum admission requirements for an MSc, MAg, or MEng degree are an undergraduate degree with a grade point average (GPA) of at least 3.3 in the last two years of study at the University of Alberta, or an equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
    Test Scores:
    • Test of English as a Foreign Language (Internet Based) [min. 90] or International English Language Testing System (academic or immigration) [min. 7] or Canadian Academic English Language Assessment [min. 70]
    Application Notes : All graduate students (both course-based and thesis-based) must have a faculty member agree to supervise their program before admission is approved. We strongly recommend obtaining supervision prior to applying online, as without a supervisor, your application cannot move forward. Contact faculty members in the research area of interest about pursuing a graduate degree under their supervision. Items to include in your email:
