Description:

Taught jointly by the Schools of Engineering and Materials Science and Business and Management, the programme draws on the strengths of each to help you develop both engineering expertise and business acumen. The business modules are designed specifically for this programme, taught alongside other mathematicians, engineers and scientists.

In the first year you’ll take specialist engineering modules, while learning the fundamentals of finance and business management. In the second and third years you’ll increasingly specialise in biomedical engineering, while expanding your knowledge of business strategy, analytics and entrepreneurship. Third-year option modules cover fluid mechanics of the cardiovascular system, medical robotics and imaging. In the final year you’ll undertake an individual lab-based project linked to the current internationally recognised research taking place in the School, applying the theory you’ve learnt in the first two years of study.
