The Haskayne School of Business is collaborating with the Faculty of Science to offer an interdisciplinary graduate-level diploma in Data Science and Analytics with a specialization in Business Analytics. Business Analytics will give you the skills and expertise that you need to support data-driven decision making in a business environment. Business Analytics professionals are trained in extracting information and insights from large data sets to understand the past and current performances of a company, make informed decisions, and predict future trends. Tools and techniques allow you to transform data into fact-based management to derive better decisions and make your organization more cost-effective and efficient.
The diploma is comprised of four core courses in data science and analytics taught by experts from Mathematics and Computer Science departments and four advanced Business Analytics courses taught by Haskayne School of Business faculty experts. | Additional Admission Requirements: | To be considered for admission to the certificate and diploma programs in data science and analytics, you will have:
- A four-year bachelor’s degree from a recognized institution
- A minimum admission grade point average of 3.00 on a four-point scale or equivalent, calculated on the last 60 units (20 half course-equivalents) completed
- Successfully completed the following undergraduate courses:
- one course in computer programming or computer science or equivalent,
- one course in statistics or equivalent, and
- one course in either calculus or linear algebra or equivalent

The successful completion of the Post-baccalaureate Certificate in Fundamental Data Science and Analytics with a GPA of 3.00 or higher
