Description:

PhD in Medical Sciences (Periodontics) is offered for post-DDS/DMD applicants. The time required to complete the PhD will vary according to the previous training of the applicant and the nature of the research undertaken; however, a minimum of six years is required with six to seven years being the expected norm.

Candidates are accepted under the general regulations of the Medical Sciences Graduate Program. Completion of a DDS or equivalent dental professional designation and at least one year of experience as a licensed dentist within five years prior to the start of the program is required with a grade point average of at lease 3.0 (or equivalent qualification) in the last 60 units of course weight of their dental program. At least one year of experience as a licensed dentist within five years prior to the start of the program is also required. Preference will be given to candidates who present a master's of science degree. A suitable supervisor must be identified to support the applicant.
