At the UNBC, we have something for everyone!

Post-secondary education is much more than classrooms, exams and academics. Life requires balance and some of that balance needs to be fun. At the UNBC, we have something for everyone: student clubs and organizations, a world-class sports facility, CIS level basketball and soccer teams, and tens of kilometers of hiking, snow-shoeing, and cross-country skiing trails.

Our Northern Undergraduate Student Society (NUGSS) is home to more than 50 academic and non-academic student clubs, ranging from an Acapella Club, Craft Club, Drama Club and Underwater Hockey Club, to a Pre-Med Students Association, Environmental Engineering Student Association, and TWS (The Wildlife Society) Fish & Wildlife student chapter, and just about everything in between. If there isn’t a club to suit you, NUGSS encourages you to create one! NUGSS also offers many other services, including Degrees Coffee Company, CFUR radio, Over the Edge Newspaper, and The Thirsty Moose Pub.

From Orientation and Convocation to UNBC Timberwolves sporting events and the University Farmers Market, The Student Life Department at UNBC helps to develop and implement a myriad of fun and engaging activities on campus.

The Northern Sport Centre is another great on-campus resource. Included in UNBC student fees is full access to this world class sports facility, including studio space, weight training, an elevated track, cardio equipment, three basketball courts (that may be used for volleyball, badminton, and a number of other activities), and two soccer fields with FIFA-approved turf. Work out on your own, take a class, get involved with intramural sports, or come down for a UNBC Timberwolves game!

UNBC is nestled above beautiful Prince George BC, a bustling city full of outstanding activities and events. We have an abundance of live music, great independent restaurants and cafés, professional and semi-professional theatre companies, a world class symphony, and so much more! Please check out Tourism Prince George for more information.

It’s your UNBC, enjoy it! For more information, please stop by our website at http://unbc4u.unbc.ca/, or contact us directly at unbc4u@unbc.ca – we can’t wait to hear from you!
