Rejection. Just like that, life threw you a curveball, and you did not get into the program or university you had planned for. But that’s okay! Like The Hitch Hiker’s Guide to the Galaxy prefaces in every chapter, the best advice is: “Don’t panic!”

Though your initial plan may not have been successful, there are many different paths for you to take and reach your destination – think of this as a speed bump along the way. This would be a time to reflect and determine what may have been the issue, think about your goals, and then work backwards from them. How can you achieve that specific goal, and what are your options? Researching different institutions, admission requirements and paths can help you narrow your focus, and allow you to begin carving a new road for your future.

At the University of Northern British Columbia, we offer 50 undergraduate level degrees, diplomas, and certificates, and we are still accepting applications for our Arts, Science, Commerce and Planning programs. We will continue to take applications up to a month before the start of each semester, and we have guaranteed admissions for students applying to these non-competitive programs, meaning that if you meet the minimum admission requirements, you are guaranteed a seat! Please note that we do encourage you to apply early, to ensure course availability.

Application decisions for admission to Arts, Commerce, Planning and Science degree programs are made within three business days after all application documents are received, including application fee payment. So what are you waiting for? Apply today, and begin carving a new path for your future!
