Event Description

Artist for a Day, NSCAD’s sixth annual celebration of hands-on art making, takes place Saturday, May 13, 10 am to 3 pm at NSCAD’s Port Campus, coinciding with I LOVE LOCAL’s Open City event. The city promises to be hopping! NSCAD’s neighbours, including the Canadian Museum of Immigration at Pier 21, Nova Scotia Centre for Craft and Design, Mary E. Black Gallery, Visual Arts Nova Scotia and the Discovery Centre will be offering participatory art activities as well.

Artist for a Day is for people of all ages and abilities. Visitors to Artist for a Day can sit at a potter’s wheel and shape wet clay, create a print from an impression of a real fish, or take part in a life drawing class. And there’s much more. NSCAD’s Artist for a Day event is possible through the participation of NSCAD alumni, faculty and student volunteers.

Artist for a Day is free, fun and no registration is required.
