If you’re someone who wants to study something that provides you with specialized skills, and sets you up for career success, then we have some unique programs for you.

Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Technology

This program will teach you about energy systems used for commercial and industrial developments. You will learn how to apply engineering principles and conventions to gain optimal energy. Sounds like a mouthful! That’s why the program also offers an optional, paid 400-hour work placement. You get the best of both worlds: an opportunity to practice the skills you learn in a classroom and also make some extra money while still in school.

You’ll study engineering practices, refrigeration, gas code, hydronic systems, HVAC AutoCAD and graphics and much more.

Now, you must be wondering, what will I do after completing this advanced diploma? The answer to this million-dollar question is: you can work with building owners, energy management firms, school boards and even architects. Find out more about the program here.

Industrial Woodworking Technician

This program is for those who love building furniture and crafting wood. The program teaches you the skills of cabinet installation, furniture building, and you also learn how to use hand tools, stationary machines and portable power tools like a pro.

You’ll study cabinet construction, auto sketch, shaping operations, installation, and site work and repair. Graduates find careers related to Architectural Millwork (doors and windows) and Furniture Construction. Find out more about the program here.

Game Programming

If you’re a gamer and you're tired of hearing: who's going to pay you for playing games all day? Then it's time for you to break that myth, and get paid to do what you enjoy. Doesn’t this sound great?

The Game Program at Humber is a project-driven program that gives you the opportunity to develop, test and maintain game applications. You will also get to meet other people who share your interests in related fields such as Visual and Digital Arts and 3D Animation. Together you will build high-quality assets that you will be able to use in the games you will develop as a student programmer.

You will study computer graphics, object-oriented analysis and design, game physics, and online gaming.
