An Introduction to York University's Student Services

When considering the school where you would like to continue your post-secondary education, it's important to explore what's available to you as a student. At York University, there are a variety of services that can help you strengthen your skills, take care of your health, and make connections.

Learning Skills Services

You can feel confident knowing that there are services to support you during exams and while completing assignments. Learning Skills Services offers workshops that help you learn about time management, study tips, keeping up with your readings, note-taking and more.

Peer support

We know that sometimes it may be more comforting to connect with someone who knows what you're going through. Having conversations with an upper-year York student can help you explore services you did not know about, get tips for navigating the student experience and meet new people — opening you up to new experiences and memories. Counselling services

Life happens, and as an incoming post-secondary student you may feel stressed. At York, you're never alone. There are counselling services, including support groups, that are available to help you discover new coping strategies, improve your interpersonal skills, and learn that you have supporters in your corner.

If you prefer to speak with someone privately, you also have the choice to walk in, or book a virtual or in-person appointment with a counsellor. Connecting with a professional in a private session will help you navigate your current situation with one-on-one guidance.
