As an artist, you're always trying to expand your art. New techniques, materials, fresh ideas: these are the key ingredients in developing your craft! You can get pretty far at home with an easel and a box of paints, but at some point, you may want guidance from experienced artists who can help you reach the next level. That's where the University of the Arts London comes in.

University of the Arts London specializes in design, fashion, and visual and performing arts. From jewellery design to journalism, user experience design to animation, UAL courses are taught by subject-matter experts. To help students access this world-class instruction, UAL offers scholarships to students — whether you're from the United Kingdom or abroad.

FUTURE FWD Scholarship

Value of award: £30,000 over three years

Number of awards: 1

Application deadline: May 23

The FUTURE FWD scholarship is renewable over three years, for a total of £30,000 (approximately $46,668 CAD), meaning you'll continue to receive funding as you continue your education.

The award is open to students entering first year of a full-time BA Graphic Communication Design program at UAL. Applications are encouraged from Black and other racialized groups — the award's intended to support students from a community currently underrepresented in the graphic design industry.

Sarabande Foundation Scholarship

Value of award: £21,000 over three years

Number of awards: 1

The Sarabande Foundation Scholarship is renewable over three years, for a total of £21,000 (approximately $32,661 CAD), meaning you'll continue to receive funding throughout your degree.

The scholarship is open to students entering a full-time Fashion course at UAL. The goal of the award, established by the late Alexander McQueen, is to support gifted, but disadvantaged students who might not otherwise be able to study fashion. Financial need and academic merit are components in selecting a recipient.

Clive Baillie Scholarship for Graphic Design

Value of award: £5,000

Number of awards: 1

The Clive Baillie Scholarship for Graphic Design, established in the name of accomplished art director and UAL alum Clive Baillie, is intended for a student in their final year of the Graphic and Media Design program. It's worth £5,000 — roughly $7,760 CAD.

The scholarship will be assessed on the basis of financial need and academic merit. It will provide a contribution towards course tuition fees and living expenses for the final year of your program. If you're finishing your graphic design degree at UAL, and you're in financial need, be sure to check out this award.
