Undergraduate entrance scholarships
Lakehead wants to reward the high school students who have worked hard and demonstrated exceptional academic performance. For these students, we guarantee funding towards their tuition. To be eligible, you must be a Canadian citizen who is studying at a Canadian high school with a minimum 80% average from a recognized Canadian high school curriculum.

Would you consider yourself a leader? Have you made significant contributions to your high school and your community while maintaining a minimum 90% average? If so, this scholarship is for you! Only two scholarships are available so be sure to make an impression.
Specialist high skills major award
$500 (payable in the first year) | Deadline: April 15th annually
The Province of Ontario created the specialist high skills major (SHSM) program to help meet the needs, interests, and strengths of all students, engaging them in learning and better preparing them for graduation and beyond.
That is why Lakehead University has created the Specialist High Skills Major (SHSM) Award and made it available to students entering directly from high school and who have a SHSM designation on their Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD). Our SHSM Award is designed to help you continue exploring your interests and set your own path.
Entrance athletic scholarship for varsity athletes
$4,500 upon consideration
Are you a competitive athlete who has committed to playing for one of Lakehead's Thunder Bay sports teams? Have you achieved an 80% average or above in your final year of high school? Then you may be eligible for consideration for an athletic scholarship!
