The Importance of Soft Skills and Your Future Career

Soft skills like communication, teamwork, professional and ethical behavior are crucial to a successful career, especially in the business world.

A day in the life of a CPA (certified public accountant) typically involves team projects, client meetings, presentations and strict deadlines, so it's important to start developing these skills early.

According to Society for Human Resource Management, "Ninety-seven percent of employers surveyed said that soft skills were either as important or more important than hard skills. However, 46 percent of new employees fail within 18 months and of these, 89 percent fail because of a lack of soft skills, such as professionalism or the ability to get along with others."

Get a head start at our No Limits Spring 2021 virtual conference on May 13 from 4 to 7 p.m.
