Paying for school seems more difficult than ever right now. Canadore College offers nearly two million dollars in scholarships, bursaries, and grants, for full- and part-time students! Entrance awards

Entrance awards for students coming into the college for the first time. They're typically award based on your grades and participation in classroom and extracurricular activities.

The deadline to apply for entrance awards at Canadore is August 31, so don't wait!

Bursaries

Bursaries at Canadore College are divided into three types: online bursaries, discretionary bursaries, and emergency loans.

Online bursaries

These are the most common type, awarded on the basis of financial need — and on some occasions, impressive academic progress. Bursary applications are open during the month of October, so be sure to prepare before the school year starts!

Discretionary bursaries

Discretionary bursaries are for students in need of emergency funding. You can apply for a discretionary bursary at any time of the year, but you must reach out to the Financial Aid office to make arrangements.

Emergency loans

Short-term loans can be had from the Financial Aid office for those who are still waiting on other financial support, like OSAP. These loans are fully repayable and meant primarily as a stopgap for other funding measures. You can apply any time.

Scholarships

Canadore College distributes nearly 150 scholarships per year across all program areas, from athletics to trades and technology.

Scholarships are awarded based on your academic performance — read, your grades — as well as your participation in class, campus life, and volunteer initiatives.

Applications open November 1 and run through mid-December. When the school year's in full swing, and you're preparing for final exams, don't forget about scholarships!

How to win $1,000

Right now, Canadore College is running a contest for two lucky students to win $1,000 each, applied directly to tuition. If you're starting at Canadore in the fall, you could get $1,000 off your tuition just for taking part in a virtual, one-on-one chat with the Canadore recruitment team.
