A group of URegina students enjoy the fun of living on campus.

Living on campus is the best way to experience university! For many students, it's their first time away from home, and living on campus makes moving away that much easier. Coming from a small community, I had no clue what to expect from school. I wanted to be able to fully immerse myself in the campus community. From the moment I drove onto campus, I felt like I belonged.

The University of Regina helped me move in all of my belongings. I was greeted by so many friendly people who were all so helpful. Since I didn't know anyone, I promised myself I would attend as many activities as possible. Initially, I thought this would be hard, but it was easier than I feared. There were also tons of welcome events, from football games to shopping trips, city tours and more! There were so many student ambassadors and people from my floor that it was easy to meet people. Within the first week, I already recognized so many faces, and campus started to feel like home.

During the semester, there were so many activities that I never felt alone or isolated. Baking cookies at midnight with my roommates or decorating for the holidays made the stressful times easier. It's these personal connections that I'm most thankful for, because I wouldn't have experienced them if I stayed off campus.

Being able to get involved drastically improved my university experience. I got to experience free or cheap events like sports games, theatre and ski trips, formals, cooking classes and so much more. Living on campus is such a unique experience — I would recommend it to anyone. It's a way to grow into the best version of yourself, alongside others who want to do the same.
