Wales is recognized as a centre for TV and film production. It's also home to a growing digital technology cluster, and the University of South Wales, or USW, is the ideal setting to begin your studies towards your creative career.

USW Cardiff (video) is in the city centre, putting you at the heart of the capital of Wales. It's the perfect home for our creative industries courses and students.

The centre of Wales' capital city is the perfect location for connecting to a wide range of creative organizations and activities. It also provides great opportunities for students to develop employment networks. Courses are designed to challenge and engage students with intellectual, creative and practical skills that will enable them to develop new ideas and operate professionally within the industry.

We're always striving to ensure courses remain relevant and that graduates are prepared to engage successfully with the creative industries to build their careers. This includes offering students the opportunity of work experience, to work in collaborative teams and to work on ?live' projects with industry. These activities allow students to gain distinctive experiences and relevant skills, including teamwork, entrepreneurship and a real insight into how the industry works — all of which puts you a step ahead when you graduate.

Inspirational academic staff combine top quality teaching with working in the industry, ensuring they can pass on up-to-the-minute skills, and share their extensive contacts and knowledge with students. Guest lectures, masterclasses, industry visits and work placements also add to opportunities to meet top industry talent face-to-face.

The last decade has seen specialist facilities develop across campus for students to hone and learn creative skills in a professional environment. Our central location is complemented by the best film and media production resources in Wales, including: TV and film studios, performance and rehearsal spaces, grading and editing suites, dubbing theatres, new motion capture and green screen studios and two screening cinemas.

With all these resources under one roof, we've created huge opportunities to develop skills and collaborate with students across a wide range of creative disciplines. Take a tour (video) and see what's on offer.

Cardiff is for students, with its plethora of galleries, museums, sporting events, bars, restaurants, shopping, and much more to be discovered beyond the boundaries of the city. With USW Cardiff's central location, our students are never far from the action.
