Eager to get involved in a workplace? Redeemer wants you to set you up for success in the real world as you work towards your career goals. Redeemer’s Center for Experiential Learning and Careers (CELC) will help you find co-ops, internships and places to study abroad that will enrich your education and allow you to bring what you learned in the classroom into a real world experience. You will also have access to a wide variety of skill-testing workshops and career counselling to help prepare you to go confidently into a line of work that you feel passionate about. As a Christian university, Redeemer works to help you connect your sense of calling with a career so you can be prepared for work the day you graduate.

Co-op work terms at Redeemer allow students to apply the knowledge they gained in the classroom to a workplace experience. You can walk away from a co-op term at Redeemer with enhanced soft skills, a sense of confidence, an eagerness to learn more about your field of study and an ability to be better integrated into a workplace in the future. Throughout your co-op experience, you will also participate in career development and mentorship with a career counsellor, keeping you on track with your career goals and feeling supported. Redeemer currently offers co-op programs in business, kinesiology and urban & intercultural ministry.

Redeemer’s internship program connects students to a local or global organization to gain both practical, hands-on experience and academic credit in their field of study. Being a Christian university, Redeemer wants students to get involved in a workplace where they can better understand how their faith gets incorporated into day-to-day life at work. Internships will build your confidence and comfortability in a workplace environment through regular mentorship with placement supervisor and a Redeemer instructor. Internships are offered in most departments at Redeemer.

Redeemer offers multiple opportunities for students to study with universities and organizations across the world in our Off-Campus Studies programs. Environmental Science students can study creation care with Au Sable Institute of Environmental Studies in places like Michigan or India. Political Science students can learn how Christian faith impacts public life at Laurentian Leadership Centre in Ottawa by working in the office of a member of parliament. English students can study Shakespeare at Oxford university in England and walk away with five courses towards their undergraduate degree.

Redeemer will prepare you for a variety of careers while also allowing you to understand what it looks like to be a Christian in today’s rapidly changing world.

If this sounds well-suited to you, you can apply at any time on our website at www.redeemer.ca/apply
