Working your way through the university application process

Preparing to make the leap from high school to university can be challenging, but you’ve now reached the first major milestone – applying to schools.

Working hard and studying diligently this year will be the key to getting accepted into your top choice of program. Begin your research by browsing the programs that Brock offers; taking note of prerequisite courses and the overall admission averages that are required. Be sure to check if there are any additional steps to the admissions process such as auditions and portfolios.

Brock is happy to offer alternate offers of admission – if you do not qualify for your first-choice program, in most cases consideration will be given for an alternate and related program. This allows you to continue on the path towards your dream career.

It can be a daunting task to narrow down the number of universities and programs that you’re interested in, but one important aspect to consider is gaining real-world experience as an undergraduate student. At Brock, we pride ourselves on offering extensive co-op, service learning and experiential learning opportunities to provide maximum exposure to your chosen field of study. We want you to graduate prepared to begin your career. We also offer a variety of ways for you to customize your degree program to meet your unique goals.

Most applications to universities in Ontario are processed via the Ontario Universities’ Application Centre (OUAC). The deadline for Ontario students to apply to an Ontario university is January 17, 2018. We encourage applicants from other provinces to submit their applications around the same time. In the meantime, be sure to register for a campus tour or Open House event and experience Brock in person. Experience is everything after all, and we’re committed to providing you with a great one.
