When you first arrive: Make sure you attend the 'Registration and Orientation Programme' for international students, this will be held at the beginning of term and this is where you will find out everything you need to know!

Take a look at Bangor University's Registration and Orientation Programme for our International Students arriving in September 2017: www.bangor.ac.uk/international/support/welcome_week_registration_programme.php

During this week the university's students' union clubs and societies hold events and parties to look for new members, so whatever you're interested in there's bound to be a club or society here for you at Bangor - and if there isn't, you can always set one up! This is one of the best ways to make friends with people that have the same interests as you too!

Our Students' Union Clubs and Societies were named as the best in the UK at the WhatUni Student Choice Awards 2017!

The best bit is that all Bangor University's clubs and societies are FREE to join!

Living on a budget: Budgeting is part of student life! Before you come to the UK, make sure you know how you will pay for:

  • travel to the UK
  • accommodation
  • food
  • day-to-day living costs
  • travel and sightseeing in the UK
  • health and travel insurance

You can also look for part-time work during your studies to help with your financial costs if you wish, our Careers and Employability Service here at Bangor University offers support to students searching for employment during and after their studies: www.bangor.ac.uk/careers/students/jobmart.php.en

Time Management: Organising your time is a personal process but if done correctly then it can only benefit you during your studies, take a look at our Study Skills Centre guide for tips: www.bangor.ac.uk/studyskills/study%20guides/organising_time.php.en

Good luck in your new school/university year and enjoy it!
