Studying abroad is an exciting time for any student. The opportunity to meet people from different backgrounds, sample different foods and explore a new place all help make the experience an unforgettable one! However, it is important to remember that studying abroad involves as much studying as attending a local university. Having a plan in place for dealing with stress can make a huge difference to the experience. Thankfully, living abroad provides lots of ways that you can creatively combat pressure. Here are some ideas to get you started:

Explore the local area
Wherever you are in the world, there will be lots of places to explore and activities to try. It is important to take breaks from studying, to clear your mind and ensure that you work productively. Try combining seeing new sights with exercising by going on a hike or a bike ride – the endorphins released by the exercise will help reduce stress.

Find New Places to Study
Working in different environments improves concentration and motivation. Studying abroad provides lots of opportunities for you to find new study spots. Try working outside in local parks or on the beach. If studying indoors works better for you, ask your local friends for coffee shop recommendations. Not only will this help you to focus and study productively, it will also help you to immerse yourself in the culture of your local area.

Surround Yourself with Home Comforts
Sometimes stressful moments call for home comforts. Whether it is eating snacks from your home country or skyping your family, indulging in something that reminds you of home can be exactly what you need!

Following these tips can help keep your study abroad trip stress-free and allow you to make the most of your adventure.
