The experiences you gain throughout your educational journey can have a significant impact on your future. These experiences come in many different forms such as volunteerism, travel, and getting involved in the school or local community. Employment is something that students are often focused on securing due to its ability to provide hands-on experience in the career path you are pursuing.

A great way to gain this experience right on campus is through Nipissing University’s NUWork program. This work study program offers students the opportunity to work within one of the many departments at the school for up to ten hours per week from September to April. Eligible students are able to gain career-related experience as well as improve their communication, time-management, and problem solving skills.

Nipissing’s Record of Student Development program recognizes that learning extends beyond the typical lecture hall setting. This co-curricular transcript is a great way to showcase the extra-curricular activities you participated in throughout university such as workshops, volunteer experiences, awards, and activities.

Another great way to gain career building experience is through internship and co-op opportunities. While these experiential learning opportunities vary by program, each offers a great way to develop skills in leadership, adaptability and resourcefulness. Bringing your learning to the international stage by studying abroad is also a great way to gain unique experiences and make your resume stand out.
