Paying your educational costs is an important part of being a student at Confederation College and you can’t put a price on quality education. Your education is the best investment you’ll ever make, but we know some of our students need help, so our Financial Aid department is here to assist you in finding financial support.

In 2015-16, Confederation College’s student awards exceeded $400,000. Awards vary by program, but dollars are provided to students through entrance awards (available to first-year students), in-program awards and bursaries.

Our Financial Aid team will also help you to find external scholarships, access OSAP and secure on-campus employment during the school year or in the summer, all of which can reduce the impact of your expenses. They can also help you by providing tools, resources and counselling to assist you with your financial planning.

The Ontario Student Assistance Program (OSAP) offers two kinds of funding to help students cover tuition and associated educational costs: grants (money you don’t have to pay back) and a student loan (money you need to repay). OSAP is open to Ontario residents studying in a full-time ministry-approved post-secondary program who are a Canadian Citizen, permanent resident or protected person.

Plus, if you apply for OSAP, you are automatically considered for the 30% off Ontario Tuition Grant (OTG) program (those not applying for OSAP can fill out a separate application for the OTG program). OSAP also recently introduced a new program, offering additional support to families with incomes under $50,000.

So how do you apply?
The fall 2017 entrance award application is now available to full-time students entering into the first semester of a post-secondary program at Confederation in September 2017. The deadline for applications is 4:30 p.m. on April 1, 2017.

You can also apply for OSAP at www.ontario.ca/osap before their posted deadline.
