Student Scholarships from Tyndale University

Financing your education takes foresight and planning. Tyndale University wants to help make these important decisions a little easier. There are lots of opportunities to make your Tyndale education more affordable.

Scholarships and awards for new students

Scholarships are offered each fall to new undergraduate students. Whether you're coming directly from high school, or you've taken a gap year (or two!), if you're entering as a first-year Tyndale student, here are a few awards for you:

President's Scholarships

The President's Scholarships are automatic awards offered to new first-year students, based on your academic successes in high school. The better your grades, the more funding you'll receive.

Scholarship name Scholarship value Academic requirements
President's Scholarship of Distinction $5,000 Minimum average of 90%
(3.90 GPA or 1200 SAT or 27 ACT)
President's Scholarship of Excellence $2,000 Average between 80% and 89.9%
(3.70-3.89 GPA or 1130 - 1190 SAT or 25 - 26 ACT)
President's Scholarship of Merit $1,000 Average between 75% and 79.9%
(3.00-3.69 GPA or 1060 - 1120 SAT or 23 - 24 ACT)

(You can compare your GPA to letter grades, percentages, and more with this handy GPA calculator. SAT is a standardized test widely used in the United States for post-secondary admissions. ACT is similar — neither is particularly common in Canada.)

Christian Camp Service Award

Up to five full-time students each year are eligible for the Christian Camp Service Award, worth $500. To qualify, you must be employed at a Christian camp in the summer leading up to your education at Tyndale. Be sure to apply for this award before Septmber 23.

Bursaries and grants for Tyndale students

Bursaries and grants, like scholarships, are money that you don't have to pay back. Unlike scholarships, which mostly focus on academic achievement, bursaries and grants have wider eligibility requirements — often centered around financial need.

Tyndale University offers general bursaries and grants, tuition aid bursaries, and even some program-specific bursaries offered in conjunction with local partners. Be sure to apply for as many as you can! There's no limit to the number of bursaries you can apply for. The application deadline for 2022 is September 23.

Here's just a sample of the many bursaries and grants available to full-time students. Check out the General complete list of undergraduate bursaries (PDF).
