Surrounded by the waters of the Great Lakes, the University of Windsor is located in the heartland of North America. Its strategic location on the Canada and US border at the centre of a dynamic engine of economic prosperity and high technology industry provides a special focus for academic and research initiatives in such areas as environmental studies, manufacturing technology, and Canada/US relations.
Our comprehensive research and teaching university can be described as the "best of both worlds”. Large enough to offer a variety of choices, yet small enough to be very personal and supportive. We pride ourselves on delivering a quality educational experience to all of our students. By providing the right balance of inspiration and education, we have consistently enjoyed an exceptionally high level of 'Graduate Outcomes’. Our graduate employment rates continue to rank among the highest, a powerful endorsement of our focus on "the degree that works”.
The University is a leader in innovative partnerships with business and industry. These include the $770 million University of Windsor/DaimlerChrysler Canada Ltd. Automotive Research and Development Centre, the only research facility of its kind in North America.
The University of Windsor offers unique programs in Acting, an Automotive Engineering option in the Department of Mechanical, Automotive and Materials Engineering, Criminology, Forensic Science, Music Therapy, Physics and High Technology, and Social Work and Women's Studies as a combined program to name a few. Our pinnacle areas of research are the environment, the automobile, and social justice. We also have specific programs that have a co-op option in order for the student to gain valuable work experience at the same time as they are completing their degree.
