The University of Regina in Saskatchewan's capital city is located in Wascana Centre, a large urban park home to educational, cultural, recreational, and governmental resources located in the south central area of the city. A young and dynamic institution, the University offers its students, faculty, and staff the opportunity to participate in a variety of innovative academic, research, and community service programs.
The U of R has nine faculties including Arts, Business Administration, Education, Engineering, Graduate Studies and Research, Fine Arts, Kinesiology and Health Studies, Science, and Social Work. We also have three federated colleges, Campion College, Luther College, and the First Nations University of Canada. Research funding at the U of R has increased greatly and we place special emphasis on our recognized strengths with a focus on the areas of excellence in Culture and Heritage, Energy and Environment, Informatics, Population Health, and Social Justice. The University has been growing in leaps and bounds, and Regina Research Park has been rapidly expanding. It is home to the Information Technology Centre (ITC), the Petroleum Technology Research Centre (PTRC), the International Test Centre for Carbon Dioxide (CO2) Capture, a new three storey Greenhouse Gas Technology Centre, and more. As well, two new residence towers dominate the campus skyline. Featuring 693 brand new rooms, they offer all the accessories students need to live, and work and relax their way through university. The new Centre for Kinesiology, Health and Sport is ready to go with a three court gymnasium, lecture theatres, classrooms, an elevated indoor four lane running track, and fitness centres.
Innovative and unique programs in Social Work, Journalism, Actuarial Science, Athletic Therapy, Fine Arts, Media Production and Studies, Human Justice, Police Studies, Environmental Biology, Chemical Technology, and Medical Imaging.
