Profile

Athabasca University (AU) has been providing leadership in distance and online learning in Canada for over 30 years. AU is the largest university in Canada dedicated to distance education serving over 30,000 students annually.

Many of our students complete full programs, others take individual courses to supplement studies at other institutions, and others take courses for personal development.

Areas of Expertise

Flexibility is the number one reason why students choose distance and online education. You can take undergraduate or graduate courses by distance and online learning, and keep earning employment income. Registration fees include all the materials needed to complete your course; there is no additional cost for textbooks. Register throughout the year, get transfer credit, and earn credits for prior learning. AU offers over 60 programs and over 600 courses. A full range of student services is available. Tutors, academic staff, and service department staff help you succeed in your studies.
