SAIT Polytechnic, established in 1916, is North America's first publicly funded post-secondary technical institute. SAIT offers four applied degrees, 16 certificate programs, 47 diploma programs, five information technology fast tracks, 25 apprenticeships, 15 pre-employment programs, and 1,200 continuing education courses through seven academic departments. SAIT provides students with training in leading edge technology, while providing the opportunity for industry to train employees in today's dynamic global marketplace. The Institute offers over 100 programs in the areas of business, computer technology, English language, engineering and technology, hospitality and tourism, health studies, professional cooking, and new media production and design. Over 10,000 students are enrolled in diploma, certificate, and applied degree programs at SAIT, and the Institute’s continuing education, network learning, and special program divisions serve more than 65,000 students every year.
SAIT, located in Calgary, Alberta, is the most established technical institute in Canada. The Institute is just a few minutes by C Train from Calgary’s downtown core and is easily accessible from anywhere in the city. SAIT has three campuses within the city of Calgary. The main SAIT Campus is located on 40 hectares of land in the north central part of Calgary. The SAIT II Campus is home to the apprenticeship trades programs and the Centre for Rail Training and Technology. The Okotoks Campus is located in the south of Calgary and services the communities outside of the city. The Centre for Rail Training and Technology (CRTT) offers training for locomotive engineers and conductors, rail traffic controllers and specialists in railcar and locomotive repair, as well as signals and communications.
SAIT is a leader in applied education, training more than 66,000 learners each year, and providing education and development programs to 30 countries.
