Keyano College is a comprehensive community college serving the people of northeastern Alberta. Based in Fort McMurray, the College was originally established as an Alberta Vocational Centre in 1965 to address the local training needs of the rapidly expanding oil sands industry. Since then, Keyano has grown into a modern college with three campuses and five regional learning centres serving over 3,000 full-time students annually.
Keyano College continues to be the cultural hub of the community through the Keyano Theatre, the Norm Weiss Arts Centre, they Keyano College Library, as well as through the College's involvement in various community projects.
Quality educational and training opportunities are available through three program divisions: Academic and Career Programs, Trades and Heavy Industrial, and Community and Upgrading Education.
In addition to the full-time students it serves, Keyano College also specializes in workforce development programs for industry and business in the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo, and serves over 6,000 community members annually through its continuing education courses, workshops and seminars.
