Requirements for Canadian Students
Applicants are subject to the following requirements for entry to any program at Keyano College:
1. Applicants must be either 18 years of age (by the program start date) or have completed a high school diploma.
2. Regardless of country of origin or citizenship, applicants for all programs (except Adult Basic Education) must demonstrate English proficiency, as outlined in program admissions requirements. TOEFL is administered at Keyano College in Fort McMurray and other locations. Applications are available through Keyano College's Student Services Centre or through the Educational Testing Service, Box 1025, Berkeley, California, USA, 97401.
3. Students, who have attended another post-secondary institution or have received a Grade Point Average (GPA) of less than 4.5 or equivalent, may be admitted as probationary students upon the recommendation of the Special Cases Committee.
4. Students with a GPA of less than 4.5 or equivalent from Keyano College may be re-admitted as probationary students upon the recommendation of the Special Cases Committee. Applicants who do not meet the admission requirements may request to have their status reviewed by the Special Cases Committee, which includes a counsellor, the appropriate program chairperson and the registrar. The decision of this group shall remain final.
Procedure for Canadian Students
For most programs, applicants are served on a first come, first served basis upon receipt of their application and supporting transcripts/documents. For programs with a quota limit, the College reserves the right to employ academic rating scales for admission purposes.
The application deadline for most programs is August 16. Applications received after that date will be considered only if space is available. Early application for all programs is recommended.
