Electrician |
| Description: | Electricians install, alter, repair, and maintain electrical systems designed to provide heat, light, power, control, signal, or fire alarm for all types of buildings and premises. The apprenticeship training required to enable the electrician to safely carry out daily job requirements consists of four years or periods. All four periods consist of on-the-job work experience and technical training. The NAIT Electrician program is designed as an “open exit” program. This means that an apprentice who wishes to work harder can finish the program before the eight- or 12-week timeline. This method of training allows the apprentice to return to work or family earlier thereby helping to reduce financial or personal stress. |
