|Description:||This interdisciplinary Specialization combines pure and applied microbiology with the complementary area of molecular biotechnology. Students in this Specialization can develop expertise in environmental microbiology, molecular genetics, microbial pathogenesis, cellular and molecular biology genomics, proteomics, bioinformatics and biotechnology.|

Applicants must have completed Biology - NYA (OOUK), Chemistry - NYA, NYB (OOUL, OOUM), Mathematics - NYA, NYB, NYC (OOUN, OOUP, OOUQ), and Physics - NYA, NYB, NYC (OOUR, OOUS, OOUT). General Biology II (OOXU) and Organic Chemistry I (OOXV) are recommended for applicants to biological and pre-medical science programs.
