Description: The Alternative Learning Lab is an academic upgrading and computer applications training program offered on a continuous intake basis throughout the year. Through the latest technology, in combination with classroom teaching and other alternate delivery modes, students are able to schedule their own time and individualize their learning options. Students, in consultation with the program advisor or co-ordinator, customize their learning programs to suit their individual needs as identified in the initial assessment.

Academic subjects offered include English, Mathematics, Science, and Communications and Self-Management. Students who elect to complete a minimum of four advanced level (grade 12 level) subjects (including academic and specified computer training modules) may qualify for the Ontario Academic and Career Entrance Certificate.

Admission Requirements
Prerequisites:

Applicants must be 19 years of age or older. All applicants are required to attend a personal interview with the program staff prior to admission to the program, and assessments will be necessary to evaluate the student’s English and mathematics levels.
