Description: The Honours Latin-American and Caribbean Studies - Thematic option permits highly motivated students to combine the study of Latin America and the Caribbean with a theme or intellectual focus whose roots extend beyond the geographic confines of this area, and for which a high level of methodological and/or theoretical expertise is required.

Themes of study may include, but are not limited to: ethnography and ethnohistory; the age of European expansion; transnationalism; the concepts and practice of law and justice; nationalism and nation-building; ecology and the management of human and natural resources.

Admission Requirements

Newly admitted students from CEGEP or new LACS students who have AP or university credits in Spanish Language courses will need to take a placement test.
