| Description: | Heirs to ancient cultures and traditions that are rich, complex, and too little known in the West, East Asian societies are among the most dynamic and rapidly developing in the world today and are having an increasing impact on the international scene, both economically and politically. The study of the languages and cultures of East Asia, whether at the Major or Minor Concentration or Honours level, offers the student an intellectually challenging and personally stimulating educational experience. As well as offering a different perspective on the human condition, it provides excellent preparation for a future career in the professions, international business management, education, law, journalism and communications, in addition to the necessary training for advanced study at the graduate level. | ||||||
