Program Information
School: Lakeland College
Faculty: Human Services
Degree: Diploma
Field of Study: Child Care and Support Services Management
Description: Help vulnerable children, youth and their families to make positive life changes. Your background in human development and behaviour management help you support their transitions when natural support systems haven't met their basic needs for healthy growth and social functioning.

Using your observing/reporting and assessing skills with your understanding of how to work with families, you learn to build therapeutic relationships, plan family interventions, recognize abuse symptoms, assign treatment planning and work with children with exceptionalities (special needs). You enhance your theoretical knowledge with four practicum placements during the two year program.
