Balancing School and Employment - Did we mention a social life?

Have you heard the saying "School is the best time of your life"? You have the opportunity to find out who you are, meet new friends and gain new experiences. Have you ever noticed that there is little no mention of the long hours spent writing essays or finishing lab work. What about taking a part-time job on campus such as a parking lot attendant or computer help desk support?

You may want to look at balancing school with a job and friends as a form of art. Here are a few ideas that may help:
  1. Begin a project early - I know, you tried that in high school! By spreading your time out among different projects and assignments, you'll be amazed at how much time you will have to spend with friends!
  2. Keep a day book! - I can't stress how important this is! Now you'll know exactly when your school work is due, when you have to be at work and be able to plan that party!
  3. Make a plan and stick to it! - That doesn't mean you have to turn down a date because you have scheduled time to work on an assignment. Just avoid changing your plan all of the time.
  4. Make a party out of it! - Who says you have to study alone? One of the best ways to study is with some friends. Not only will you help each other, but it could actually be fun! But remember to stay on track!
