Les Roches is the centre of the universe. Well, not exactly; but for a university campus located half way up a Swiss mountain, it pulls above its weight in terms of the variety of societies and activities it offers.

When you’re not in class, there is plenty going on to keep you entertained and occupied.

The list of outdoor sporting activities is huge. From skiing, snowboarding and paragliding, to mountain biking, trekking and golf, students organise outings to the neighbouring Crans-Montana resort throughout the year.

Students also organise an endless list of activities on campus.

These are:

  • Innovative: In 2012, Les Roches students set the Guinness World Record for the number of different nationalities in a swimming pool. In 2013, students teamed up with world-renowned video artist to create a giant human map of the world.
  • Ambitious: Students are currently in the process of developing and launching their own wine label in partnership with local vineyards.
  • Fun: Students organize master chef competitions, karoke nights, charity fundraising events, cocktail nights.
  • Healthy: Students are encouraged to do sports and use the campus gym and swimming pool. There are several sports teams, which compete with other schools.
Most importantly, the activities offer you the opportunity to practice the leadership and management skills you’ll acquire through the courses, and - because the student base is international - they develop what the hospitality and services industry calls your ‘global fluency’, a highly-prized skill.

And of course, when we say the list is endless, it really is. If you come to Les Roches, you can create whichever club you like. Its success will depend on you mobilising students and faculty to support you.

But that’s really just another opportunity to put your newly-acquired theory of marketing and communication into practice.
