University is a time when you’re learning about yourself almost as much as you’re learning in the classroom. You’re committing four years of your life to your degree and it’s a worth considering the type of activities you’d like to be doing when you’re not in class. The King’s University, in Edmonton, Alberta, isn’t just about academics. When students aren’t thinking big about academic topics, they experience a vibrant campus life that includes athletics, service opportunities, and an energetic student community. The dedicated team in Student Life works on behalf of students to create academic and non-academic (co-curricular) learning activities so that students can get the most of their university time.

Every type of student -- international, commuter, residence -- can find something that’s right for them in one of the many student run groups. Students participate in campus ministry opportunities, student clubs, and The King’s Students’ Association. Each group runs a number of activities ranging from the ever-popular Open Mic night to Globe Aware Week, where international students share food and art from their home country.

As a Christian institution, King’s isn’t just about an active, nurturing student community. It is also about a university education that will expand your world view. These two things paired together make for a university experience that will build the whole you. Don’t believe it? Hear it from a former student. -- “King's is a unique place to get my education because of its intentional learning community. Through classes, interdisciplinary studies, and co-curricular activities, I am challenged to ask the hard questions, think critically, and become a well-rounded student,” says Sandra Thiessen (’14, BA).
