When picking the right school there are two important things you should keep in mind

Looking for the right school can be tough – it’s your future, after all. It may seem as though coming to the right decision is impossible. However, there are two factors you should look at: academics and social life.

The first thing you should consider when choosing the right school is the right kind of academics. Does the university have a good reputation? What programs are they known for? Do they offer your program? Not only is the University of Waterloo is a top rate university but students come from all around the world for our amazing programs – from arts to engineering, Waterloo only does the best. Waterloo even offers programs that you can’t find anywhere else, such as Knowledge Integration and our many “and business” programs.

Another thing you need to consider is the kind of student life you expect live while in university. Here at Waterloo, our student life scene caters to the studious and the sociable. We offer many quiet spaces across campus where students can go to study – along with individual study rooms that can be booked in residences as well as campus buildings. Many students enjoy going to the many small cafes and coffee shops around Kitchener-Waterloo to work on assignments (and drink great coffee!). As for the social side, not only does Waterloo offer over 100 clubs students can join, but also Kitchener-Waterloo has many clubs and bars for students to enjoy with friends. The cities also host many festivals, such as Night Shift – which showcases KW’s thriving arts scene, which anyone can attend.

You’re going to be there for four years, it’s important to get the most out of your education but still enjoy yourself. That’s why you should look at a university on an academic and social level.
