Still thinking about how you’re going to pay for your post-secondary education? We know the cost of education is expensive, but at Waterloo, we want you to focus on your success – not on your financial barriers.

Whether it’s the cost of tuition, textbooks, supplies, housing or mandatory fees, we are here to help. How? First and foremost, through a wide range of scholarships that are available to students.

It’s also important to realize it’s more than just grades alone that receives recognition – all types of hard work get noticed. For instance, there is the Schulich Leader Scholarship that recognizes academic work and leadership, and is valued up to $60,000 over 4 years!

There are bursaries awarded, too. Bursaries are based on financial need, rather than academic achievement. They are valued at $500 to $4,000 for students entering their first year of post-secondary studies.

Don’t forget about government support programs, which vary depending on where you live. In Ontario, there is the Ontario Student Assistance Program (OSAP) that gives out loans and grants for Ontario residents to help finance their education.

Waterloo is also home to the world’s largest co-op program, allowing you to gain experience and earn money, helping you pay for your education. Co-op students earn on average $37,000 to $77,000 by the time they graduate!
