From 2021, commencing students are referred to the Bachelor of Business/Bachelor of Government and International Relations (1446) or Bachelor of Business/Bachelor of Government and International Relations (1447).
With a deep understanding of policy and power in today's world and Asia's political, economic and cultural environment, you will be prepared to work locally or globally as an authority on Asian affairs.
Through the Griffith in Asia Initiative, you will develop professional skills and have opportunities for practical learning via internships, study tours, exchange and employability courses.
You will learn about political institutions and processes, business-government relations, and foreign policy and globalisation.
You will develop expertise and key functional skills in areas such as cultures and civilisations, economics, and politics and government in South East Asia.

This program is offered full-time and part-time at the Nathan campus. You may choose to study courses at other campuses where the program structure allows.
As a full-time student you will generally attend 12-15 hours of scheduled classes per week throughout the trimester. As a part-time student, you will generally attend 6-8 hours of scheduled classes per week. Classes may be scheduled during the day and evening throughout the week.
To be classed as a full-time student, you are required to enrol in a minimum number of credit points each standard study period. The minimum credit points for full-time enrolment in this program is 30 credit points.
Trimester 1 and Trimester 2 are deemed standard study periods. As Trimester 3 is a non-standard study period, continuing students moving from one year to the next will not be required to study during this trimester to be eligible for student income support.
Domestic students who commence in Trimester 3 may be eligible for student income support from the onset of study provided they are enrolled full-time in this study period.

Government and International Relations: You will find opportunities providing advice to government and business leaders, developing policy and managing programs with domestic and international organisations in areas such as economic, environmental and social policy, diplomacy, and trade relations.
Asian Studies: You will be prepared for work in government, business, travel and tourism, education, international agencies, training, and export consultancy, in Australia and overseas. You will find opportunities in foreign affairs, foreign trade, business consultancy, defence, security agencies, and media.

Eligible undergraduate fee-paying students may defer their tuition fees by taking out a FEE-HELP loan which is part of the Higher Education Loan Program (HELP). Payment of the loan is via the taxation system when income reaches a specified level.
