Admission

Apply to the Faculty of Education as a high school student or a transfer student.

  • If you're a high school student, we'll evaluate you for admission to Year 1 of the Teacher Education: Elementary Curriculum program.
  • If you're a transfer student from UVic or another post-secondary institution, we’ll evaluate you for admission to Year 2 of the Teacher Education: Elementary Curriculum program.
    • Note that transfer students must meet additional course and experience requirements.

Alternatively, you can apply to UVic in Humanities, Science or Social Sciences and transfer into Year 2 of the program after one or more years of full-time study.

Degree holders

This program is designed for students entering directly from high school or transferring from other post-secondary institutions. If you've already completed an undergraduate degree, apply for a post-degree professional program in Elementary Curriculum or Secondary Curriculum.

Scholarships

English language proficiency

You must demonstrate English language proficiency to attend UVic. Your transcripts are enough to prove proficiency if you've studied full-time in an academic program at the high school or post-secondary level within Canada for at least four years, and all of your instruction was in English.
