Whether you want to work as a lawyer, city manager, legal writer, elected official, or another important role within the growing field of legal and public affairs, an online Bachelor of Science in Law and Policy from Liberty University can help you turn your vision into a reality.

Our law and policy degree programs are designed for students who are interested in legal processes and policy implementation — like you. Because law and public policy impact nearly all nonprofit, government, and private agencies and organizations in the United States, at Liberty, you can narrow your focus and specialize in either of them: pre-law or public policy.

As a student in Liberty’s law and policy degree program, you can expect to take courses in American and constitutional government. Aside from your core courses in communication, math, English, and Christian thought, your major courses will instruct you on legal ethics, reasoning, and negotiation.

If you choose to focus your degree in pre-law, you will gain additional courses designed to prepare you for law school or legal work. Your program will include legal research and writing, contracts, civil procedure, criminal law and procedure, torts, and jurisprudence.

On the other hand, if you decide to pursue the public policy track, your coursework will center on the creation, management, and ethics of policies. Your classes will cover law and policy procedures in today’s major career fields, including criminal justice, national security, healthcare, education, religious liberty, and economics.
