Located in Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada, St. Thomas University is a small, primarily undergraduate university dedicated to excellence in liberal arts education. Our 1,800 students engage in a rigorous education with exceptional offerings in traditional disciplines such as Psychology, English, Political Science, and Fine Arts, and more unique programs that offer increasing value to our world today—Communications and Public Policy, Criminology, Gerontology, Human Rights and Digital Journalism and New Media. Our students participate in experiential learning opportunities—service learning, field work, internships and practicums, travel study, lab work—that allow them to use their education in practical settings and experience the value of a liberal arts education to society.

Returning students have until April 15 to re-apply and submit a deposit to hold a room. Remaining rooms are then assigned. There is a deposit on residence.
Off-campus housing is readily available and reasonably accessible to campus. Housing Office or the Student Affairs Office. Prices vary widely.
September orientation includes academic skill workshops and student run sessions from the Information Help Centre.
Many career planning seminars, presentations, and forums are open to students.
The entire campus population, students, faculty, and staff, appreciate the beautiful new J.B. O'Keefe Fitness Centre; 14,000 square feet of modern cardio equipment, free weights and weight machines, a squash/racquetball and a multi-purpose court, and a physiotherapy and massage therapy clinic. There’s a lot to do inside and outside of these walls. Players at all levels can participate in the sport of their choice. We offer an athletics program for both men and women at the varsity, intramural, and club levels.
Extracurricular activities at St. Thomas aren't really "extra." They're central to the growth and development of students. Outside of the classroom, our students can participate in many different activities ranging from Model United Nations to Choir.
There are opportunities to join several clubs and societies, such as the St. Thomas University International Student Association (STUISA), Muslim Student Association, India Association, African Students Union, Overseas Chinese Students Association, Turkish Student Society, Malaysian Student Society, Caribbean Circle, Indonesian Association, and Singapore Students Society.
There are 100 computer workstations divided between two locations available to all students. All students have access to the internet and online library catalogues. Students have access to UNIX and IBM mainframe based computing through services shared with the University of New Brunswick.
Fredericton's only experimental Black Box Theatre has a 275 seat auditorium, which provides additional performance space. The Green Room, a small art gallery adjacent to the theatre, hosts four or five exhibits per year. Religious facilities and services include chaplain and campus minister. Students’ assisting Sunday worship and weekday Mass is also celebrated.
Facilities for Native students include the Native Student Council. The St. Thomas Adult Returning Students (STARS) support group assists mature students. The Third Age Centre offers a wide range of programs and services to seniors. The University encourages students with disabilities to meet with University officials to explore ways of best meeting their special learning needs. All campus buildings are wheelchair accessible and there are a limited number of specially designed residence rooms for disabled students.
We have exchange agreements with universities throughout the world. As well, Third World Experience programs are available through the Campus Ministry Office. A number of travel awards are available to St. Thomas students studying abroad.

There are three research centres on campus: Atlantic Human Rights Centre, Third Age Centre, and Youth at Risk Centre.
