The University of East Anglia (UEA) is ranked in the world top 200 and UK top 15. We are an internationally renowned university based in a campus that provides top quality academic, social and cultural facilities to over 17,000 students.

The campus is located in 320 acres of rolling parkland just three miles from the centre of Norwich, England's first UNESCO City of Literature. This uniquely-placed university is also a leading member of Norwich Research Park, one of Europe's biggest concentrations of researchers in the fields of environment, health and plant science. Sporting facilities on campus include the Sportspark which houses an Olympic-sized swimming pool and rock climbing wall. UEA also has the world famous Sainsbury Centre for Visual Arts, which is featured in some Avengers films. Campus also hosts an International Literary Festival which has included famous names such as Ian McEwan, Kazuo Ishiguro and Anne Enright (all alumni of UEA's Creative Writing course).

Areas of Expertise

Flagship programs include the UK's first School of Environmental Sciences and Creative Writing course. UEA's academic strengths include business, physiotherapy, law, social work, communications and media, and pharmacy.

Sports

The Sportspark is the largest university indoor sports centre in Britain, with international standard facilities. There is a 30m Olympic size pool, 12 badminton courts, an 8-lane athletics track, six floodlit hockey and soccer pitches as well as a state-of-the-art gym. Add to that the 10x28m climbing wall, 5 squash courts, newly-equipped gymnastics centre, 6 tennis courts and 40 acres of playing fields, and you can see why Sportspark is a one-stop sporting destination. With loads more on offer it is worth popping along to investigate further. UEA is uniquely situated within over 360 acres of landscape, including woodland, footpaths, a man-made lake known locally as 'the UEA Broad' and playing fields used for soccer, rugby, cricket, lacrosse, American football and baseball. In addition, there are a whole host of sporting clubs, societies and events, including regular sports-themed events taking place on campus on Wednesday evenings. Activities

The 1,550-capacity LCR venue on campus attracts touring bands and artists as well as regular club nights. The Union of UEA Students is constantly booking incredible acts to visit, and recent high profile performers include: Coldplay, Calvin Harris, The Killers, Ed Sheeran, The Streets, Primal Scream, and The Vaccines. Also on-site you will find banks, coffee shops, canteens, shops, bars, a book shop, post office and launderette, so we should be able to provide most of the things you might need on a day-to-day basis. UEA has over 250 student societies.

Clubs

Joining in is part of the fun of student life and there are more than 250 clubs and societies at UEA, which will allow you to meet others with shared interests, whether it is climate change, drama, photography, music or basketball. Membership is not only the best way to meet people, but it enhances your CV too!

Cultural

Unique shopping experiences, vibrant nightlife, rich cultural community, Norwich has it all. It is located between picturesque coastal landscapes and a wealth of countryside, Norwich is a surprisingly bustling city. Always a good place for a night out, the city offers a variety of good-value restaurants, stylish cafe bars, theatres, nightclubs and festivals.
