OAC is one of the top colleges of its type in the world, and the University of Guelph is one of Canada’s top-ranked comprehensive research universities. The OAC is a network of campuses and research stations throughout Ontario. OAC offers a broad array of academic choices for students with a wide variety of interests. More than 3200 students are enrolled in undergraduate, graduate and diploma courses in six academic units on OAC campuses located in Guelph and Ridgetown.

Career Planning

Career Services coordinates the OAC Job Shadow Program, which is targeted to OAC students as part of Experience Agriculture. This program provides shadowing experiences and opportunities for all OAC students throughout the entire school year.

Sports

At the Guelph campus, the Department of Athletics delivers a diverse spectrum of physical activities, encompassing instruction, self-directed recreation, group endeavors, lifestyle and health initiatives and high performance opportunities.

Activities

Many OAC students take an active part in university life at OAC through student councils and at the Guelph campus through the Student Federation of the OAC (SFOAC). These organizations promote student activities and class spirit.

Clubs

Getting involved really helps turn university into home and getting involved is not hard at OAC and the University of Guelph. There are over 100 different student clubs on campus. At OAC some clubs include the Landscape Architecture Student Society, Animal Science Society and Land Resource Science Graduate Students Council.

International Involvement

OAC’s students come from more than fifty countries around the world. Our programs offer a hands-on, multi disciplinary approach that focuses on developing effective communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills and on attaining practical work and/or overseas study experiences. The research interests of our faculty reflect a global perspective. Their work will add value to production, research, innovation and technology transfer to enhance the quality, safety and variety of our food, ensure environmental integrity and responsibility, and enrich the well-being of rural communities. OAC graduates and faculty are involved in research projects in Syria, China, Egypt, Mali, China, Tanzania and many other countries.
