Bow Valley College is Calgary's only comprehensive community college, offering certificate, diploma, and post-diploma certificate programs in technology, entertainment arts, business administration, community studies, and health and wellness. Founded in 1965, we have over 50 years' experience supporting learners with flexible, focused college education, upgrading, and English language learning courses that lead to careers.

We are a diverse and inclusive learning community of 17,500 unique learners. Our 2021 learner study showed an 86% graduate employment rate and 94% learner satisfaction. Our main campus is located in the heart of downtown Calgary, with regional campuses across southern Alberta, including Airdrie, Cochrane, and Okotoks.

Areas of Expertise

Bow Valley College delivers programs in technology, entertainment arts, business administration, community studies, and health and wellness at the one-year certificate and two-year diploma level, as well as post-diploma options for college/university graduates. We also offer academic upgrading and English language learning courses for students looking to prepare for college or the workforce and continuing education courses for the working professional.

On Campus Housing

Bow Valley College does not have on-site housing.

Off Campus Housing

Learners of Bow Valley College may be eligible to apply to student housing at SAIT and Ambrose University.

Incoming Students

New learners at Bow Valley College are fully supported in their transition to college, with access to academic advising, accessibility services, health, career planning, group study, financial empowerment, and tutoring services before and during their college studies.

Career Planning

Bow Valley College programs are designed to lead directly to employment. Career Services in the Learner Success Services office supports learners with job search, resumé preparation, interview skills, and employment search services. Our 2021 survey of recent graduates shows 89% employment after graduation.

Clubs

Learners at Bow Valley College can request or create a club to represent their community, program, or interest. As of 2019, campus clubs include: Enactus Bow Valley. SABVC Pride, CHANGE Club, International Club, S.O.A.R. Club, Recovery From Addictions Club, Supply Chain Management Club, and the Software Development Students' Alliance Club.

Information Technology

Bow Valley College has dozens of computer labs and stations across campus. We've developed cutting-edge facilities for our Centre for Entertainment Arts, Information Technology, Cloud Computing, Software Development, Cybersecurity, and Digital Design programs.

Cultural

Bow Valley College learners represent 148 different countries and cultures, speak 98 different language, and come from all corners of the globe. Our facilities support cultural diversity through our Intercultural Centre, Inikokaan Centre, Multi-Faith Room, Gender and Sexual Diversity Hub, and Students' Association.

Special Services

Bow Valley College is committed to providing an accessible and inclusive learning environment for students of all ability, access, mobility, and cultural needs. Many of our programs offer flexible delivery options including part-time, online, and blended study options.

International Involvement

Bow Valley College facilitates study abroad opportunities, international practicums, international internships, and study tours for learners in a variety of programs.
