Since 1982, thousands of successful graduates have passed through the doors of the school and out into an ever changing restaurant, food service, and hotel industry. They have found that the school has prepared them to contribute their new found knowledge, enthusiasm, and creative skills to the dynamic and exciting world of the international professional food and hospitality industry. We are conveniently located in the heart of downtown Vancouver at 609 Granville Street. The school is attached to Pacific Centre Mall and has administration, classrooms/lecture facilities, and three industrial kitchens on the third floor, and a school run 40 seat restaurant on street level where students can service clientele.

Incoming Students

An orientation program is held for all new students. Students are advised of the dates and times of all orientation activities. The purpose of orientation is to ensure that all new students receive the information and support necessary for a smooth transition into The Art Institute of Vancouver community. Orientation and welcoming activities begin the week prior to each quarterly start and extend throughout the first week of the quarter.

Career Planning

The Department of Career Services provides support and assistance in career planning, job search strategies, interview techniques, and resume development. These services are provided through individual and group advising, workshops, and opportunities to network with industry professionals through Portfolio Shows, career fairs and networking events. Job leads for full-time professional work, part-time jobs, and internships are available through your Career Services Advisor and a library or online and hard copy career materials is available for student use.

The Art Institute of Vancouver is an accredited school under the Private Career Training Institutions Agency of British Columbia (PCTIA) and registered with the Ministry of Advanced Education, Student Services Branch.
