Description | If your ambition is to work with children under the age of eight with a particular focus on additional needs, this fascinating combined course is ideal for you. Through your UEL tutors as well as your fellow students who may be taking the course online in countries as far afield as China, New Zealand or Saudi Arabia, you’ll gain practical knowledge and understanding which will allow you to access a range of careers.
You’ll learn about the development, needs and experiences of young children, including those with special educational needs. You’ll investigate the circumstances and procedures through which children are defined, diagnosed and labelled as having special education needs. We’ll help you to consider how to remove the barriers that prevent children from participating fully with their peers in their early years. And you’ll be able to do it all online which makes it easy to fit around parenting or work. You’ll study using the virtual learning environment Moodle, which includes chatrooms, reading materials, lecture clips and assignments. | | |
